Environmental Graphics – Key School Fort Worth
When Key School relocated to the newly renovated John M. Richardson Campus, the goal was to create an environment that was vibrant, engaging, and fully on-brand—a space where students could feel inspired while navigating their learning journey. I was brought on to design a suite of environmental graphics that would transform the media wall, pillars, hallway ceilings, and library walls into an immersive experience.
I approached this project with a focus on bright colors, playful typography, and dynamic compositions that speak directly to students while remaining professional and cohesive for faculty and visitors. Each graphic element was designed to:
- Media Wall: Act as a bold centerpiece, reflecting the school’s identity and history, while creating an engaging visual anchor for the space.
- Pillar Graphics: Transform structural elements into opportunities for storytelling, guiding students through the environment.
- Ceiling Flags & Hallways: Introduce motion and energy, creating a sense of discovery as students move through the building.
- Library Wall: Build a welcoming and stimulating learning environment, celebrating curiosity, growth, and exploration.

The challenge was to balance playfulness with clarity, ensuring the visuals were stimulating without being overwhelming. I worked closely with the school to interpret their brand and educational philosophy visually, translating it into graphics that students interact with daily, reinforcing their learning and sense of belonging.
Key School’s rich history—from its founding in 1966 as a program supporting students with dyslexia, to its growth into a nonprofit serving over 8,000 students—provided endless inspiration. My designs honor this legacy while contributing to a forward-looking, inspiring campus that reflects the school’s mission to empower students with language-based learning differences.
The final installation resulted in a space that is bright, engaging, and functional, where students and staff alike can enjoy the visual journey as part of their daily experience.
